At the end of this course, the students; 1) Define the concept of language contacts. 2) Compare different methods in language contacts and their results. 3) Interpret the changes caused by language contacts in Turkish. 4) Explain the language contact situations considering Turkish.

COURSE DEFINITION | In this course, general information on the language contact studies, which is a new and productive part of the linguistics. The main issues and current subjects of the language contacts; under which conditions/what/why/how change during the language contacts, Turkish language contacts situations and contact processes, analyses of the examples of the Turkic language contact phenomena. |
