At the end of this course, the students; 1) Read selected printed and manuscript texts written in different centuries. 2) Define asli and zait letters. 3) Explain the word classes and structure of the words in Arabic. 4) Derive new words from Arabic roots.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course will teach asli and zaid letters, aksam-ı seba, various forms of words, izafets, and postpositions and compound forms that were transferred from Arabic to Ottoman Turkish. Reading and writing exercises will be done on old scripts regarding Arabic words and Arabic style.
