LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Explain the aim, history, related sciences of Turkish folk literature and its place in
2) Practice the research methods of Folk literature such as observation, field study, oral history and interview
3) Distinguish Turkish tradition and customs.
4) interpret the change and transformation in Turkish culture.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe course deals with the purpose and historical background of Turkish Folklore as well as the associated fields of science and its role in our social life. Also included in the course are the methods of research, social norms and their characteristics and transitional periods of life.
