At the end of this course, the students; 1) Recognize anonymous types of prose such as fairytale, myth legend. 2) Have knowledge about the birth and development of fairy tales, legends and myths in Turkey and the World. 3) Analyze anonymous types of prose such as fairytale, myth legend. 4) Learn humour theories and practices on the anecdote. 5) Recognize types such as proverb and idioms, praises and curses.

In this course, it is aimed to have the students obtain basic information about Turkish Folk Literature. Main resources related to the course are intended to be introduced. Important Turcologists who work on folk literature and the importance of their works are to be elaborated.
