At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learns folklore theories. 2) Understands the functions of social norms. 3) Explains the transition periods and the practices carried out during these periods. 4) It gives meaning to the importance of holidays, ceremonies and celebrations in culture.

COURSE DEFINITION
Within this course, students learn the concept of "intangible cultural heritage" and the steps Turkey
has taken within the scope of this agreement, with the Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention
signed by Turkey on March 27, 2006, signed under UNESCO in 2003. The student will have knowledge
on Fakelore, Netlore, Body Folklore, Folklore and Cinema which are amoung the modern working
grounds of Folklore itself.
