At the end of this course, the students; 1) Knows the geopolitical importance of Cyprus. 2) Have information about the beginning of the Turkish presence in Cyprus and the Turkish Cypriot administration 3) Knows the history and development of the Concept of Enosis 4) Have information about the British Eastern Mediterranean policy and Cyprus. 5) Knows the historical developments about the Ottoman Ottoman Empire's leasing of Cyprus to England and the important events in the following period. 6) Have knowledge about the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot community during the British rule. 7) Have information about the Turkish Cypriot Resistance Organizations 8) Have information about the establishment and collapse of the Republic of Cyprus.
