LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Be able to match measurement and evaluation methods used in psychology with appropriate populations.
2) Distinguish between measurement and evaluation.
3) The measurement tool defines and formats the development phases and finds the problematic steps, if any.
4) It exemplifies the qualifications that tests and practitioners should have.
5) Criticize the data collection process of a research in accordance with the measurement and evaluation ethics.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe main aim of this course is to teach students the basic knowledge of psychological testing and assessment. Another important purpose of the course is to teach students the general knowledge of psychological testing and psychological assessment and the difference between them. Therefore, following topics will be covered through the course: Necessity of measurement in science, historical roots of measurement and psychometric, measurement in psychology, reliability, validity, item analysis, scale development, measurement of intelligence, measurement of personality, measurement of attitudes, ethical considerations in testing and assessment.
