1) know the general characteristics of video activism.
2) know the production process with structural and technical aspects.
3) carry a critical approach to video activism in the framework of theoretical knowledge.

COURSE DEFINITIONVideo activism is to to carry the unseen images and unheard voices of unknown stories to the public domain that can?t find place in the main stream media, with the possibility of todays digital audio and video technology. In this course, video activism will be covered thourgh the concepts like; video as a political tool, reality and the recorded reality, presentation and re-presentation, surveillance cultur, power of the image and its evidentiality. Video activism will be analyzed through samples of participatory video works, guerrilla televisions, new media applications etc. to better understand its structure and funtioning.
