LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Know the concepts organizational excellence, Total Quality Management and competitiveness. 2) Have knowledge about the characteristics of world-class organizations. 3) Describe how to execute a strategic plan using a real-world example. 4) Understand the managers role in creating and maintaining an ethical environment. 5) Know the benefits of CSR and Strategic Alliances for competitiveness. 6) Develop content about the creation of an organizations culture. 7) Know how to establish a customer focus and how to implement empowerment in employees. 8) Understand how to effectively implement the changes associated with restructuring. 9) Develop strategies for managers to resolve conflict in teams and to establish a climate that is conducive to communication. 10) Gain skills about how managers can train people effectively and avoid conflicts in the workplace.

COURSE DEFINITION | The aim of this course is to improve the managerial skills of the attendants by teaching the basic information about quality management and encouraging them for using the quality management problem-solving tools by practice. Today there are commonly known basic quality concepts that lack the theoretical framework to be used for solving managerial issues in daily work life. Therefore, it is needed a theory-practice integration in quality management. The main idea of this course is to encourage the attendants to develop fast, creative and practical solutions for the daily managerial issues through quality management when it is needed in case studies or training activities. |
