LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) acquire a general perspective about East Asian-Pacific regions' political, economic and international relations in regional and global scales.
2) understand the characteristics of the global and regional actors' policies.
3) be able to interpret the cooperation mechanisms and regionalization approaches in the region.
4) learn the dynamics of the economic relations and competition among the actors and be able to predict about the future of regional stability.

COURSE DEFINITIONDevelopments in the world have been displayed that mono-polarity is in decline after the Cold war period. The economic and political rise of the People's Republic of China is one of the substantial improvements. Besides, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia are taking the lead in the rising Asia-Pacific region. The goal of this course is teaching to the students of Political Science and International Relations dynamics of the world in the case of Asia-Pacific.

2nd Week Geopolitics of the Eastern Asia-Pacific region
3rd Week Historical Background of the Eastern Asia-Pacific International Relations
4th Week USA-Japan Relations and the Security Dilemma in Eastern Asia-Pacific
5th Week Strategy of China
6th Week A Look into Japan's Policies
7th Week Power Balance in Eastern Asia-Pacific
8th Week Regional Organizations in Eastern Asia-Pacific: Cooperation and Competition
