LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) have knowledge about the historical process of Turkey's Middle Eastern policies.
2) have knowledge abour current problems and areas of cooperation and analyze current developments on this basis.
3) analyze the effective factors on the relationship of Turkey's to the Middle East countries.
4) understand shifts in various periods in Turkey's approach to the region and its reasons.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe problems that Turkey has faced in the Middle East since the foundation of the Republic of Turkey, the attitudes it had to take in the light of the current domestic and foreign conditions, the balances it had to watch, and the problems peculiar to the Middle East and their effects on domestic and foreign policies will be explained. The topics will be covered in terms of politics and diplomatic relations, especially in the last twenty-five to thirty years, emphasizing actual events and experiences, rather than in terms of political history.
