LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) They learn the basic concepts of local governments, their history, reasons for existence, types, bodies, powers and responsibilities, both in terms of their legal basis and doctrine.
2) They have detailed information about central government-local government relations. They learn the basic principles on this subject.
3) Starting from Turkey, they will have an idea about important examples of local governments in the world.
4) Apart from student life, they gain competence in terms of their personal development and career both in public institutions and in exams, courses and seminars.

COURSE DEFINITIONLocal Governments in Turkey course is a course in which the basic concepts, history, types, functioning, organs, powers, duties and responsibilities, legal bases and world examples of the subject are discussed.
