At the end of this course, the students; 1) develop sub-skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing. 2) learn the meaning and use of language associated with different text types, using appropriate strategies to work out meaning. 3) write an academic paragraph by following the academic text writing rules.

COURSE DEFINITION
Upon successful completion of this course, students will improve their academic and language skills with emphasis on critical thinking and writing. Students will critically interact with, discuss and write about the textbook mentioned using a wide range of academic word lists. The focus is on knowledge that they will enable students to discuss ideas and concepts generated in interactive class atmosphere through the interpretation of our textbook. Students will consolidate approach to thinking, reading, speaking, writing and language usage as initiated in POLT103. In addition, this course aims to develop abilities to synthesize and evaluate information, conduct basic and independent research, by expanding the range and accuracy of academic vocabulary.
