General Information

The aim of the training programs provided at the Department of Public Health is to contribute to the development of modern public health applications in Turkey . Within this framework, our prominent aims include researching, discussing and offering solutions to the health concerns in Turkey , as well as graduate physicians who can diagnose such concerns and offer solutions.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to improve the public health by means of information, learning, teaching, research, discovery, training and communication. We also pledge ourselves to carry out studies in order to generate information by means of researches and higher education within the framework of realizing our mission and convey information based on evidences to the public, medical faculty students, other members of health discipline, decision-makers, administrators and executives with a view to improving the public health.

OUR AIMS
To provide a top- level education to students, public health scientists, executives, administrators and leaders,
To improve the approaches and innovations contributing to the improvement of the health level in our country and the world
To contribute to strengthening the public health and health services
To have discussions on public policies with various disciplines and sectors in order to raise the consciousness on human right aspect of health as well as ensure the dissemination of health information and also reflect this approach in their practices.

By its very nature, the public health is related to various disciplines. Main measurable disciplines, such as epidemiology and biostatistics, examine the effects of primary health concerns on public. The public health should closely follow up especially the social sciences and cooperate with the ones working in this field in order to better understand the effects of health behaviors on the society and to inform the public with a view to enabling people to maintain a healthy life.
As the Department of Public Health, we are carrying out studies in terms of identifying the main concerns in Turkey through interdisciplinary cooperation in the fields of 'Women's Health, Violence Against Women, Gender, Reproductive Health, Children's Health, Adolescence and Young People's Health, Health of Elderly , Problems and Health of the Disabled, Contagious Diseases, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Chronic Diseases, Environmental Health, Safety and Health at Work, Mental Health, School Health, Nutrition' as well as performing advocacy activities required for the development and implementation of solutions.

The academic staff is consisted of 3 proffessors, 2 Assistant Profefessors and 2 lecturers
