The aim of this department is to educate computer-literate professionals who can adapt to the changing needs of organisations in the twenty-first century.
Management Information Systems Department offers a four-year bachelor's degree programme to students. Our students learn to evaluate the information system of organizations effectively in laboratories equipped with current technologies.
In addition, our students can reach the level of knowledge and skills to identify, perceive and analyze business functions, economic and legal environment, organizational theory and behavior within a systems framework.
In this context, Information Technologies and Applications for computer science, Internet Information Systems, Programming Languages, Information Systems, Databases, Computer Hardware, Communications and Technology, Information Systems Management and System Analysis, Web Design and Web Programming courses and also some courses in the field of management and business such as Business Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory and Modern Management Techniques and Project Management courses are also available for our students.
In addition to theoretical courses, according to our faculty's mission, there are job training programs which are consisting of a compulsory summer intership of at least 30 working days and workplace-based training of at least 400 hours during one semester.
The mission of the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) is to educate graduates who, within the first five years after graduation, will:
(PEA1) Assume roles as Data Analysts or Data Managers in the public and private sectors and produce solutions that support organizational decision-making processes, with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for these roles.
(PEA2) Keep pace with emerging technologies and assume roles as Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, or Software Developers in the public and private sectors, designing and developing information systems that address organizational needs, with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for these roles.
(PEA3) Assume roles as Project Managers, Product Managers, or Consultants in the public and private sectors and contribute to projects addressing organizational needs, with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for these roles.
(PEA4) Assume roles as Information Systems Managers or Information Technology Strategy Specialists, managing information and communication technologies in accordance with societal and organizational needs and ethical values, with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for these roles.
