The Shared Learning Facilities Unit : Başkent University students can improve their presentation and strategic thinking skills, creativity and decision-making process at the Visual Laboratories that are furnished with hi-tech equipment. The flow of the course is mainly focused on the students through sample case on video and simulation games on computer. Teaching and research throughout the campus are carried out at the laboratories that are furnished with hi-tech computers, audio and visual equipment. All computers are connected to the Internet through 34Mbit speed via Ulaknet. The Computer Laboratories for self-study are kept in service at weekends and after working-hours, so the students can work on their projects, assignments or research at any time they wish. Appropriate settings and the fast Internet Access via EDUROAM offers our students a comfortable atmosphere for research. The unit giving great importance to student-oriented social activities has made it possible for many student clubs to set up and run their own websites on the Internet. On the University’s website baskent.edu.tr, one may find the student club WebPages where the students announce their own activities worldwide. From the moment they enrol, they begin to use personal e-mail addresses, and also they are permitted to construct and share personal WebPages. The students’ personal e-mail addresses are left activated even after they graduate.

Başkent University Library and Documentation Center: Başkent University has one of the biggest library in Turkey, with 12.000m² closed area, 1243 seating capacity and a capacity for 1 million books. It is a center which plays an essential role in teaching and research by gathering information resources and putting them at the disposal of its users. It offers its services in the periodicals hall, reference hall, books hall and self-study rooms which are open for 7 days /24 hours. The entrance floor is also open for 24 hours during the exam weeks. All the library tasks are carried out through computers. Furthermore, the library catalogue can be searched online through the library web page on the Internet. Within the framework of the inter-library cooperation, books can be borrowed on loan. Electronic-online databases can easily be accessed. The students can also benefit off- campus from these opportunities. The library expands its capacity by getting new materials every year. The students can borrow books from the library if they are members. To become a member, they must apply with their identity cards and an e-mail addresses. There is a separate hall in the library for the music and arts collection.
