LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Gain knowledge about the need for renewable energy systems. 2) Define solar energy and the solar spectrum. 3) Determine the solar energy potential and the factors that affect its use. 4) Learn the mechanism of electricity generation of a photovoltaic cell via solar radiation 5) Gain knowledge about the characteristics of different semiconductor materials and the photovoltaic cells composed of these semiconductors 6) Learn about the installation of photovoltaic systems and the necessary components for it. 7) Be aware of developments in photovoltaic field in Turkey and in the world
