LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Defining and learning of the first law of thermodynamics. 2) Defining and learning of the second law of thermodynamics. 3) Learning of the exergy concept. 4) Learning of the Gibbs thermodynamics. 5) Applications of the state relationships for real gasses and liquids. 6) Thermodynamic properties of mixtures and applications of phase equilibrium.

COURSE DEFINITION | The first and second law of thermodynamics and advanced studies about their applications to the engineering systems and flow problems, equilibrium conditions, exergy analysis, thermodynamic potentials, variable mass systems, chemical equilibrium and thermodynamics of chemical reactions. Relationship of thermodynamics to applied sciences and widespread fields of engineering. |
