COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, social and economic rights and freedom which constitutes the basis of social state arranged in Article 2 of the 1982 Constitution will be examined. For the first time the principle of the social state is devised in the 1961 of Constitution in the Turkish law. Social and economic freedoms will be examined in this course according to the plan followed in the 1982 Constitution. In addition, social rights will be evaluated from the view of comparative law. One of the twin conventions prepared by the United Nations is the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. This convention will also be examined in this course.
