LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Recognizes the theoretical foundations of qualitative research and different qualitative research designs. 2) Comprehends the importance of qualitative research in sports and exercise sciences. 3) Learns the qualitative research process, its stages, the position of the researcher and the researched, data collection/data evaluation techniques, with examples from their applications in exercise and sports sciences. 4) Can develop projects with qualitative approach in exercise and sports sciences.

COURSE DEFINITION	This course covers the development of an understanding of qualitative research methods in sports and exercise sciences, examining examples of different qualitative research designs in sports research, the theoretical foundations of qualitative research methods, qualitative research stages, patterns, data collection and analysis methods, validity, reliability and ethics in qualitative research.
