LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Describe group dynamics theory and be able to apply principles of leadership, social facilitation, and cohesiveness to enhance cooperation, sharing, and member focus on leader and group goals
2) Develop constructive conflict and problem solving procedures through anticipation and proper communication skills
3) Differentiate between assertive/energetic and aggressive/violent behavior in individual and team sports and systematically analyze the relationship among athletic aggression, moral conduct, and prosocial and/or antisocial behavior
4) Identify and discuss methods and techniques that could be used to develop team cohesion and positive group dynamics
5) Identify and discuss the various roles and leadership styles of effective sport professionals.
6) Identify and discuss fundamental communication and counseling techniques appropriate for use in a sport context.
