LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Describe the nature and role of each financial institution in the financial system
2) Explain how different types of financial institutions operate
3) Comply with the rules of regulations relevant to financial institutions
4) Identify the unique management problems faced by most financial institutions and formulate feasible solutions to those problems
5) Generally master the basic techniques adopted by financial institutions for making management decisions
6) Estimate and control the risk exposures of various financial institutions

COURSE DEFINITIONThis is a comprehensive course that deals with financial institutions and instruments regarding the running structure of the financial institutions that influence the macroeconomics of financial markets, the micro structure of financial institutions and their inluence to the market and the financial instruments in terms of where they are used. In this context, Ministry of Finance, Undersecreteriat of Treasury, Undersecreteriat of Foreign Trade, Central Bank of Turkey, Federal Reserve Bank, Capital Markets Board of Turkey, Istanbul Stock Exchange, Brokers, Commercial Banks, Islamic Banks, Eximbank, Investment and Development Banks, Worldbank, IMF, OECD, OPEC will be covered in addition to Leasing, Factoring, Forfaiting, Barter, Mortgage.
