LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Know the debates about the European Union's integration, its institutions, and the widening - deepening debates.
2) Know the EU's common policies, interior/justice and foreign/defense policies.
3) Learn about EU citizenship and developments within women's rights and women's movement in the EU.
4) Learn current debates in the European Union.
5) Know about the raise in the radical right, Islamophobia and Xenophobia in the European Union.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course will examine the various aspects of the governance issues of an enlarged European Union. The course will also address potential issues that the future membership of the candidate countries, in particular Turkey, creates for the governance as well as identity of the EU.
