LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Are introduced to legal dimensions of current issues in the field of international law. 2) Explain Turkey?s position in international law subjects that relate to Turkey. 3) Define important legal issues concerning global subjects such as Ukraine crisis, Syrian crisis and climate change. 4) Explain the impact of state of emergency and conditions of withdrawal from agreements concerning international human rights law. 5) Explains international legal measures taken against violence against women and crime of human trafficking. 6) Make deeper legal analysis and description concerning classical international law subjects that concern Turkey.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course will enable the students to focus on issues concerning international law in connection with major global current incidents. Accordingly, legal dimensions of international matters such as Russia-Ukraine conflict, Syrian crisis, climate change, COVID-19 pandemic and significant issues concerning Turkey will be addressed. It is aimed that by this way, the students will acquire the skill of following international agenda from an international law perspective. |
