At the end of this course, the students; 1) Know the benchmarks of the world history in terms of economic development; major inventions, capital accumulation, development of manufacture production, money and banking, Bretton Woods system, exchange rates mechanisms, capital liberalisation and the like, 2) Know the present day macro economic situations in the major economies that is USA, EU, China,Japan. Also being neighbors of Turkey; economies of the Russia, Iran, Greece deserves some attention plus the functions of some important organisations such as IMF, WB, WTO etc.
