COURSE DEFINITIONTreatment of elastic, plastic and creep deformation under steady and cyclic loads. Emphasis on approximate solutions which enable the prediction of service performance from simple tests. Failure due to fatigue, creep rupture and plastic instability. Treatment of fracture from engineering point of view.
