COURSE DEFINITION
History of statistics. Way of thinking of displaying and analyzing statistical data. Methods in descriptive statistics. Using computers in statistics, presentation and usage of mostly used softwares for statistics. Basic probability, random variables, probability distributions and basic properties. Finite sample spaces and counting methods. Independent events, conditional probability. Expected value and variance, covariance and correlation. Basic discrete and continuous distributions.
