1) Learn communication networks
2) Learn digital, IP-based networks
3) Learn routing algorithms, Markov chains and queuing theory.
4) Learn local area networks analysis.
5) Learn demand and fixed -assignment protocols.
6) Learn the networks of queues, traffic rate equations, traffic matrices, network planning.

COURSE DEFINITIONCross-layer performance in cellular WCDMA/3G networks. Intelligent networks, cognitive networks, smart antennas and relay for the next generation wireless systems. Wireless LANs and adhoc networks. Voice capacity in IEEE 802.11, 802.15, 802.16 backbones, vertex-linked infrastructure for adhoc networks, probability methods for location estimation in wireless networks, mobile wireless internet and satellite applications, roaming in the global wireless internet, role of satellite in mobile/wireless systems, encoding, algorithms and performance in wireless networks.
