COURSE DEFINITIONIntroduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). GIS architecture. GIS input and output data. Raster and Vector data models. Organization and representation of spatial data. Database management systems. Spatial data analysis(network analysis, proximity analysis, 3D visualization). Developing basic applications with available GIS software packages (ArcGIS, MapInfo, ArcView).
