At the end of this course, the students; 1) Compares the basic concepts, theories and techniques of special education. 2) Interprets the contemporary terminology in the field of special education to be useful in the related field. 3) Having knowledge about the diagnosis, definition and characteristics of different difficulties, establishes the relationships between them. 4) Evaluates service delivery options for individuals in need of special education and their families. 5) Analyzes general methods and strategies to meet the social and educational needs of individuals in need of special education.

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, students learn basic knowledge of education of individuals who needs special and individualized education because of the various problems. Students are also acquiring knowledge of problems that require special education and content of educational programs. The topics that will be covered through the course as follows: Education of individuals with mental difficulties, behavior modification, skill training, need assessment in special education, individual differences and psychological approaches, parental training.
