LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Be informed about the basic characteristics, the historical developments and current status of the schema therapy.
2) Explain the importance of the therapeutic relationship, evaluation, and formulation.
3) Identify the cognitive and behavioral techniques used in the course of the therapy.
4) Interpret how schema therapy are utilized in different problems.
5) Distinguish the different aspects of schema therapy from other psychotherapy approaches.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe aim of this course is to teach undergraduate students theoretical background of schema therapy, help them to gain insight about their daily experiential processes and introduce them with basic therapeutic skills of schema therapy. This course contains introduction of schema therapy techniques and observation of schema therapy applications via visual and audio materials.
