At the end of this course, the students; 1) Compares and criticizes basic social development theories. 2) Discusses and interprets how individuals learn to establish and maintain relationships with others from a developmental perspective. 3) Analyze the developmental results of socialization in each developmental period. 4) Produces solutions with the awareness of the contribution of different social contexts to problems and social behaviors. 5) Establishes similarities between current social problems and what they learned in the lesson and identifies the factors that went wrong in the process.

COURSE DEFINITION
The aims of this course are students will be able to explain how individuals learn to establish and maintain relationships with others, to express the developmental consequences of socialization in different developmental period. This course covers theories of socialization and social development, temperament, attachment, friendship, bullying, play development, social cognition, the development of problem and prosocial behaviors, the family, peer, school and community as a socialization context, socialization in adulthood.
