At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will define the concept of gender and know sex and gender related development and processes in historical context. 2) Will know research about gender and evaluate them critically. 3) Will learn the mechanisms through which gender is constructed and perpetuated. 4) Will know the consequences of gender of the individual thyself and social relations.

COURSE DEFINITION
The purpose of this course is to explain the mechanisms through which gender is constructed and perpetuated and the implication of gender for different aspects of the life. Students will learn about gender differences and similarities, perpetuation of gender stereotypes, and the effects of gender construction for the individual, relationships, family, society, and labor force from the perspective of differing psychological orientations.
