At the end of this course, the students; 1) Should be able to exhibit knowledge of basic concepts of the scientific research. 2) Will be able to use the language of quantitative and qualitative research, will identify the strengths and the limitations of each method and will be able to collect basic qualitative and quantitative data and to interpret them. 3) Will be able to review the literature, will learn to formalize effective questions of scientific research.

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, basic principles of research strategy, concepts and methods are surveyed. To this aim, the course will cover topics such as social sciences, method, quantitative and qualitative research design, data collection, data analysis. Special emphasis is on the ontological and epistemological presuppositions and methodological orientation of different modes of research in communication studies.
