At the end of this course, the students; 1) Patient interview/physical evaluation via patient history 2) Prescribe, perform, record, and interpret an appropriate regimen of examination procedures and tests that constitute an acceptable, comprehensive (or when indicated, a limited) dental examination of a patient. 3) Prescribe and interpret a suitable oral radiographic examination for a patient following a review of the medical, oral and dental histories. 4) Formulate and present to the patient an acceptable initial dental treatment plan based upon the dental, medical, personal, and diagnostic factors 5) Prescribe, obtain, record, and interpret dental and medical consultations. 6) Prescribe drug therapy for prophylaxis, pain control, and oral disease. 7) Diagnose or rule out oral etiologies of head and neck symptomatology for a patient and/or refer the patient appropriately for further evaluation 8) Diagnose and treat, or recognize and refer appropriately for diagnosis and treatment, patients with oral diseases, benign neoplasms, oral components of systemic disease, and oral complications of cancer therapy and/or immunosuppression
