LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Collect, organize, analyze and interpret data; 2) Interpret radiographs as they relate to the diagnosis of periodontal diseases and dental implants; 3) Formulate a diagnosis and a prognosis; 4) Develop a comprehensive treatment plan; 5) Understand and discuss a rational for the indicated therapy 6) Evaluate critically the results of therapy; 7) Communicate effectively to patients the nature of their periodontal health status and treatment needs; 8) Communicate effectively with dental and other health care professionals, interpret their advice and integrate this information into the treatment of the patient; 9) Organize, develop, implement and evaluate periodontal disease control programs for patients; 10) Organize, develop, implement and evaluate a patient recall program and provide supportive periodontal therapy; 11) Organize, develop and implement an infection control program for a dental practice setting.
