COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course it will be included cinema started at late 19th century as a motion spotting fun tool at the beginning and we will have a look at its journey becoming a visual language from technic, aesthetic and scientific perspective. For this purpose, time and place of the cinema as a plastic material that can use the structure, characteristics, elements of film language, genre, this course will be covered under the individual.

2nd Week Cinema history; birth of cinema, first years, silent cinema
3rd Week Cinema history; Soviet silent cinema and montage, cinema with audio, post war cinema
4th Week Movements in cinema; Realism, German Expressionism, Poetic Realism, Italian Neorealism,
5th Week Movements in cinema; New Wave, direct cinema, digital cinema, experimental films,
6th Week A brief look at the history of Turkish cinema
7th Week Genres in cinema
8th Week Mid-term
9th Week Film production process
10th Week Film crew
11th Week Narrative elements; acting, decor, costume, accessories, color, composition, scale of shots, camera movements, camera angle
12th Week Narrative elements; audio, editing
13th Week Script and the dramatic structure
14th Week Directors from the World and Turkey
