LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Makes surgical history and physical examination in adult patients.
2) IKnows diagnostic tols and uses them for the purpose.
3) diagnoses surgical diseases and makes differential diagnosis.
4) Explains and applies intervention priorities in acute abdomen, bleeding and shock patients
5) Performs emergency intervention in acute abdomen, bleeding and shockpatient.
6) Applies the general approach to the patient who complains of abdominal pain.
7) Makese xamination at the breast.
8) Explain and apply a sepsis, antisepsis applications.
9) Makes small surgical treatment applications.

COURSE DEFINITIONTo be able to carry out the history, physical examination, diagnosis and differential diagnosis processes of surgical patients effectively, to communicate effectively with patients and their relatives, to follow the patients before and after the surgical treatment, to accompany all medical interventions to the patients who are taken responsibility and to be encountered after graduation. It is aimed to learn the General Surgery approach to be applied to General Surgery patients.
COURSE CONTENTS
TOPICS
1.During the internship, the first year is worked out similar to the work of the research assistant.
2.- Study units and rotation Schedule are determined before the internship starts.
3.- Working units; general surgery service, transplantation service, operating room, general surgery clinic, burn unit.
4.- During the internship period, each intern doctor keeps between 8 and 10 attacks. During the seizure, it worksdepending on the physician on duty. During the seizure, he takes part in operations in all units. He takes an active role in the supervision of the in patient, under the supervision of the doctor, in the follow-up of the patients hospitalized in the service, treatment and care procedures, preparation of the newi n patient, assistance to the operation, evaluation of the patient in the emergency department, consultation of the inpatien tpatient and the monitoring of the burned patient and the evaluation of new applications.
5.- Working duties and conditions in services; performs the following practices in company with the responsible doctor:
6.preop-postop patient follow-up, drain, catheter follow-up and evaluation, vascular access, arterial blood gas collection and evaluation, case presentation, foley catheter insertion, epicrisis writing, nasogastric catheter insertion, local anesthesia pplication, primary suture application, surgical operationa ssisting , wound care (dressing / irrigation), simple surgical intervention (superficialabscessdrainage ...), sampling for culture, prescribing, rectal touch application, x-ray evaluation (paag / adbg / drop), history-physical examination-differential diagnosis -Pre-diagnosis patient preparation, enema application, burn care.
