LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Recognize the common medical and surgical problems of the central and peripheral nervous systems on given case scenarios, and also manage their diagnostic and therapeutic approaches
2) Recognize common and important psychiatric disorders of childhood, adolescence and adulthood, and also manage their diagnosis and treatment on given sample cases
3) Perform the diagnosis and treatment management of frequently encountered major diseases of the visual and auditory organs on selected sample cases
4) Recognize the important macroscopic and microscopic pathological findings of central and peripheral nervous system diseases on the images given to them, and explain the basic development mechanisms of the same diseases,
5) Explain the basic pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of pharmacological agents used in the treatment of common and important neurological and psychiatric diseases, local/general anesthetics and other molecules with psychoactive properties
6) Recognize the important imaging findings of brain and spinal cord diseases on the visuals supplied and manage the diagnostic requests of imaging methods in nervous system disorders

COURSE DEFINITIONThe course which aims to convey basic clinical (especially semiology), pathological and pharmacological information concerning the medical and surgical problems of the central and peripheral nervous systems and sensory organs to the Physician candidate who has acquired basic morphological, physiological, molecular and microbiological knowledge in the preclinical years
COURSE CONTENTSProblems related to neurological, neurosurgical, ophthalmological, psychiatric and ENT diseases of childhood and adult age group and essential pathology and pharmacology related to these problems
