1) Know the methods related to diagnostic assay development and validation, and know how to prepare an experimental and statistical execution plan needed to carry out a diagnostic assay validation study.
2) Know how to analyze, evaluate and interpret the diagnostic assay validation results using informatics technologies and statistical analysis methods.
3) Know how to prepare the diagnostic assay validation results in report or presentation format using informatics technologies and statistical analysis methods.

COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, referring to adsorption isotherms, diagnostic assay development is introduced and diagnostic assay validation is explained mentioning cutoff score (threshold), mean 2-standard-deviation method, receiver operating characteristic curve, Youden index, analytical sensitivity (limit of detection), sigmoid dose-response curve, probit analysis, curve fitting, analytical specificity, linear range, regression analysis, precision/reproducibility, coefficient of variation, robustness, accuracy, diagnostic sensitivity, and diagnostic specificity.
