At the end of this course, the students; 1) have knowledge of the factors behind the globalization process and the criticisms of globalization. 2) have knowledge of international company, multinational enterprise and global company. 3) have knowledge of the concept and the modes of international business. 4) have knowledge of the historical development of international business. 5) have knowledge of the global political, economic, and cultural knowledge environment affecting international business. 6) have knowledge of theories of international trade and investment. 7) have knowledge of governments effect on international business activities. 8) have knowledge of country selection and evaluation criteria and methods. 9) have knowledge of international marketing, human resources, production and accounting management.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course mainly deals with background, environment, modes and operations of cross-border or world-wide economic activities of business firms that involve two or more countries. For this purpose, having clarified the conceptual background for and political as well as legal environment facing international business, the reasons for why and how companies are engaged in international business will be discussed in conjunction with the theories and institution of international trade and investment. The course will also specifically focus on motivations of handling international business through direct investment by taking into account the procedures for country evaluation and selection. |
