LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) To recall previous knowledge on structural differences between English and Turkish 2) To recall previous knowledge on grammar and apply this knowledge to ESP content 3) To realize different uses of words in different contexts 4) To translate sentences of various structure and level of difficulty into the target language, considering important points about tone and content 5) To produce alternative translations for the words, phrases and structures given in the source language 6) To enrich field-specific vocabulary knowledge 7) To enhance comprehension of written material 8) To apply sentence translation skills to paragraph translation

COURSE DEFINITION	This is an upper-intermediate English for Specific Purposes translation course. It aims to equip students with the necessary skills in order to understand and identify the structural differences between English and Turkish, to recall previous knowledge on grammar and apply this knowledge to ESP content, to realize different uses of words in different contexts, to translate sentences of various structure and level of difficulty into the target language, considering important points about tone and content, to produce alternative translations for the words, phrases and structures given in the source language, and to enrich their field-specific vocabulary and to enhance their comprehension of written material.
