At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn basic principles of psychotherapeutic interview. 2) Learn the necessary information should be gathered during psychotherapeutic interview. 3) Learn how to integrate the information gathered in the intake sessions to the later sessions. 4) Learn how to interview with the special cases. 5) Gain psychotherapeutic interview practices under supervision.

COURSE DEFINITION | This is the first course of a cluster of courses related to the development of clinical psychologist skills. In this course the basic communication skills to be used in developing a psychotherapeutic alliance and a diagnostic framework are discussed and shown. The course is also a framework to expose the students to the basic ethical rules of conducting an interview. The objective of this course is to provide some of the basic skills regarding principles of observation and interviewing techniques; communication skills; active listening; evaluation of non-verbal cues; explanatory statements; questioning techniques; diagnostic formulation and report writing on an intake interview with at least one client. |
