LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Know the concept of financial literacy, the definition and scope, 2) Know the basic concepts of finance and economics, 3) Know the purpose and functions of financial management in business 4) Recognize the financial statements, read and interpret these financial statements 5) Detect the time value of money and can calculate interest 6) Recognize the financial system, has information about financial markets, financial intermediaries and financial instruments 7) Learn the financing sources, compared to alternative sources of finance 8) Understand the concepts of asset and investment, the management of cash and other assets

COURSE DEFINITION | The primary aim of this course is to inform students about the basic concepts of finance and to raise awareness of finance-related issues. It is also aimed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to make sound decisions on issues such as spending, savings, financing and investment, both in their private and working lives. |
