LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Gain knowledge of the basic concepts of information security 2) Learn the concepts related to Information Security and its technologies. 3) Develop the infrastructure, strategy and architecture of Information Security. 4) Understand the key issues of Risk Management and Information Security practices

COURSE DEFINITION	Basic concepts of information security and technologies, authentication, communication rules in information security, privacy, law in information security, encryption systems, information security in information systems, risk management, risk assessment will be examined. Within the scope of developing information technology, information security concepts used in programming languages from information security on a project basis and information security elements that should be used in artificial intelligence systems and information security in the internet of things that will be used more in the future will also be explained.

What are the threats and protection procedures targeting information security? 3rd Week Security rules, threat, risk and attack, data security 4th Week Cryptology fundamentals, encryption techniques, encryption standards 5th Week Information systems, privacy, legal approach 6th Week Social networks, cyber threat and importance of security 7th Week Computer applications and factors that threaten data security 8th Week Midterm 9th Week Risk Management, Risk Assessment 10th Week Risk Management, Risk Control Strategies 11th Week Security-threatening attacks and methods of protection 12th Week Information networks structure and network security policies 13th Week Penetration Test 14th Week National and international information security concepts
