LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explain history and running with defining private retirement funds 2) Will be able to define privileges of private retirement funds 3) Will be able to discuss why a person should have a private retirement fund 4) Are able to explain the role and importance of private retirement funds for the country economy

COURSE DEFINITION	This course is oriented around basic concepts of pension: Private pensions, social security and retirement provision; development of private pension systems in selected countries: OECD countries, member states of the EU, USA, Canada; development of private pension system in Turkey; historical development of individual pension system, basic concepts of individual pension system, institutions involved in the individual pension system, legal framework, pension companies, pension funds, pension plans.
