At the end of this course, the students; 1) Diagnoses hereditary and acquired deformities, traumas and pathologies of the chin and face. 2) Define jaw and facial anatomy and imaging techniques. 3) Lists the principles, indications, contraindications and complications of oral and maxillofacial advanced surgery. 4) Diagnoses infections of the jaw and face area and makes the right and rational antibiotic choice. 5) Explains intra and postoperative complications and treatment approaches of oral and maxillofacial surgery. 6) Comprehension of the local anesthetic administration, dose adjustments, toxicities, local and systemic complications as well as the emergency treatment protocals 7) Defines the principles of surgical treatment approach in geriatric and disabled patients in dentistry. 8) Performs clinical and radiological evaluation in cases of oral and maxillofacial injury and trauma, and applies diagnostic and emergency treatments.

To explain fundamental principle and contemporary diagnostic and treatment methods in maxillofacial surgery
Comprehension of the basic principles of oral and maxillofacial area, surgical approach, current diagnosis and treatment modalities. Determining the proper diagnosis and treatment methods of the maxillofacial area traumas and pathologies using advanced radiographical methods. Gaining the ability to diagnose the Temporomandibular joint traumas and pathologies. Having information about the acute cases, maxillofacial traumas and emergencies and their treatment approaches
