LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) By communicating effectively with the patient, they evaluate their cooperation and question the patient's symptoms.
2) Perform a detailed clinical examination of the patient and determine the appropriate radiological methods.
3) Make a diagnosis by evaluating the patient's symptoms, clinical and radiological findings.
4) Explain congenital or acquired anomalies/deformities seen in the maxillofacial region.
5) Explain treatment methods considering differential diagnosis.
6) Determine the most appropriate treatment options that can be applied for the diagnosis made to the patient.
7) Explain the necessary surgical minor intervention to the patient and apply it under supervision.
8) Count the procedures to be applied in acute and emergency situations that occur in the patient.

COURSE DEFINITIONOral pathologies, benign and malignant lesions, their etiologies as well as the clinical and the radiological findings are defined. Possible differential diagnosis, biopsy and treatment modalities are described. The anatomy of the maxillofacial region is described with cases compatible with the clinical cases.
