LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Gaining the ability to diagnose the congenital or acquired deformities, traumas and pathologies 2) Comprehension of the maxillofacial anatomy and advanced radiographic techniques 3) Comprehension of the advanced oral and maxillofacial surgical principles, indications, contraindications and the complications 4) Learning the oral and maxillofacial area infections and administering the proper antibiotics 5) Learning the intra operative and postoperative complications of the oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures 6) Comprehension of the local anesthetic administration, dose adjustments, toxicities, local and systemic complications as well as the emergency treatment protocals 7) Learning the treatment approaches to the geriatric patients 8) Having information about the acute cases, maxillofacial traumas and emergencies and their treatment approaches

COURSE DEFINITION	To explain fundamental principle and contemporary diagnostic and treatment methods in maxillofacial surgery Comprehension of the basic principles of oral and maxillofacial area, surgical approach, current diagnosis and treatment modalities. Determining the proper diagnosis and treatment methods of the maxillofacial area traumas and pathologies using advanced radiographical methods. Gaining the ability to diagnose the Temporomandibular joint traumas and pathologies. Having information about the acute cases, maxillofacial traumas and emergencies and their treatment approaches
