LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Recognition of the anatomy of temporomandibular joint and related bone and soft tissue
2) Having an idea about functional and boundary mandibular movements
3) Recognition of radiological tools to be used for the diagnosis of temporomandibular joint disorders
4) Explanation of vertical and horizontal determinants of occlusal anatomy
5) Recognition of the developments of occlusal concepts from past to present and the necessary criteria to form an ideal occlusion
6) Recognition of the effects of different types of trauma on temporomandibular joints
7) Recognition of temporomandibular joint disorders due ton on physiological occlusion
8) Recognition of the relation between ear-nose-throat diseases and temporomandibular joint disorders

COURSE DEFINITIONThe objective of the course is to gain an insight on the masticatory system and related tissues and enabling of diagnosing related disturbances.
